ISC starts initiative for the elderly

The elderly sector under pressure due to reputation!

Do you remember? Nursing homes closed for visitors: 'No family, no caregiver, now what? Minister De Jonge of Health, Welfare and Sport announced that no more visitors are allowed in nursing homes. These measures were taken to give vulnerable groups in society extra protection against the coronavirus.

The nursing homes had to close, Dutch citizens organised various actions to give a boost to the elderly in the nursing homes or care homes. Outside, the atmosphere was one of encouragement, while inside it was different. There was sadness and a feeling of loneliness.

Last year, nursing homes suffered a major image loss. This was shown in an article in today's Financieel Dagblad. Research shows that VVT organisations (Nursing homes, Care homes and Homecare organisations) evoke a sad image in people. Where you used to be able to walk into a nursing home without any problems, nowadays it feels like an unpleasant place. This has a major impact on the sector, its turnover, but especially on its visitors and its clients.

The time has come for companies to stand up and pull nursing homes out of this pit and turn the image that has arisen in recent times into a positive one. ISC has been working on a concept for the VVT organisations in which playing together, movement, motivation and relaxation are central.
